Virtual APEX Academy (VAPEX) was founded by a group of young men in June 2021. That year, the release of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 sparked a new wave of flight simulation trend, with various Facebook groups popping up like mushrooms. However, despite the abundance of tutorial videos on YouTube, none of them provided a complete set of basic flight training. Thus, we were born in this environment. We uphold our passion for flying and our original intention of teaching and learning. Our core values are "professionalism, rigor, and leisure." We hope to provide a warm and enthusiastic community for those who love flying.
Professionalism: Our teaching materials and content are carefully researched and reference formal aviation training procedures and teaching methods. We offer both ground and practical training. We believe that only by laying a solid foundation in theoretical knowledge can we combine theory with practice when it comes to practical flight. We hope that flight simulation is not just a game, but a means of learning and exploring aviation.
Leisure: In addition to promoting flight simulation and allowing more people to appreciate the fun side of flying, VAPEX also organizes online and offline events, including meals, simulated flight experiences, and joint flying activities. This not only provides an opportunity to make friends but also facilitates communication between students and instructors. We want everyone to have fun while experiencing the professionalism of VAPEX.
Taitung Airport
The airport sits on 153.7 hectares of land began as a holding room facility in 1977 and upgraded as an official airport on 1 July 1981. It then moved to its current site months later afterwards to meet the strategic requirements for the military. On 1 June 2001, it was promoted to become a second class airport, and in September it began its expansion construction to move industries eastwards and boost the local tourism industries.
The hangar of VAPEX located inside Taitung Airport and the training airspace is divided into the Vertical Valley training airspace and the Green Island training airspace for virtual pilots.
